The Packs of Atoora can be unusually large or very small. Many times, some rankings in the pack are nonexistant. The rankings for the Packs are:
1) The alphas;
2) The second in command;
3) The adviser;
4) The medic;
5) The fighters;
6) The trainees;
7) The pups.
An explanation on each:
The alphas: The top male and female who run the group. They make sure everything is run correctly and are the 'god figures' of the pack.
The second in command: A senior fighter, usually male. They are chosen for their amount of experience and substitute for the alphas when they are absent. The alphas usually try to pick out a non-related member as the second in command in case something where to happen to either of the alphas.
The adviser: The adviser is usually male and is very self-explanatory. They are well-respected by all packs and serve as a link between them. They provide info to the alphas alone.
The medic: The medic can be any gender. They don't know much about healing with herbs, and serve more as a watcher. They tend to the pups and travel through other packs to become updated. They are the most knowledgeable with healing techniques, though most are forgotten.
The fighters: The fighters make up the brunt of the group and serve as guards. They protect the alphas, adviser, medic, and pups. The senior fighters usually arrange things such as war parties and training sessions.
The trainees: Pups become trainees when the alphas decide that they are strong enough. The fighters as a whole teach them fighting tactics, show them the territory, and tell them about pack rankings. They become fighters when the fighters decide that they are ready.
The pups: The pups are the youngsters of the group and generally never leave the presence of the medic or their mother.
